The Arado River rises in the Ourense massif and flows south to the Portuguese border, passing through the Baixa Limia-Serra do Xurés Natural Park, the only cross-border natural park in the Iberian Peninsula. The Arado canyon is Level IV: technically demanding, with high-commitment sections, significant waterfall rappels and essential self-rescue manoeuvres.
