Highlights

  • • Climbing and hiking on Pedraforca (2,497 m): the iconic mountain of the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees
  • • Snowshoeing through Cadí-Moixeró valleys away from ski resort circuits
  • • Downhill mountain biking and traverses from elevations above 1,800 m in the Berguedà
  • • Llobregat headwaters: the river's source with family hiking routes in the surrounding area

Best time to visit

June to September for hiking and climbing on Pedraforca. December to March for snowshoeing and access to La Molina. Autumn, with woodland colours, is the favourite season for mountain biking.

Practical tips

The access to Pedraforca via Refugi Luis Estasen (1,800 m) is the standard starting point. For downhill mountain biking, several local companies offer vehicle shuttles with bikes to the higher elevations. Castellar de n'Hug is the only northern access to the Cadí-Moixeró on that slope: the road may be closed in winter.
