Moro Almanzor Peak

Pico del Moro Almanzor, standing at 1,209 meters, is one of the most prominent peaks within the Cabañeros National Park, located in Ciudad Real province. This mountain is part of the Montes de Toledo, a mountain range stretching across central Iberian Peninsula. Its name reflects the local history and culture, linked to ancient routes and settlements in the region.

From the summit of Pico del Moro Almanzor, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the raña, a distinctive landscape of eroded plains and rock formations, as well as vast Mediterranean forests dominating the park. The predominant vegetation includes holm oaks, gall oaks, and cork oaks, forming a highly valuable ecological ecosystem. Visiting Pico del Moro Almanzor typically involves a 2 to 3-hour hike, depending on the starting point and walking pace. No prior reservation is needed and access is free. The terrain has a medium accessibility level, with well-marked trails but some steep sections. Suitable footwear and sufficient water are recommended. The park is family-friendly, though children should be supervised in steeper areas. Pets are welcome as long as they are controlled and park rules are respected.
