Description

The Montgo is a 753-metre massif rising directly from the Mediterranean between Denia and Javea, declared a Natural Park in 1987. Its 2,117 hectares harbour over 650 plant species — one of the richest botanical areas in the Valencian Community — and a network of seven official hiking routes, from gentle walks to the demanding summit climb via the Cami de la Colonia.

From the top you survey both bays, Cape San Antonio and, on clear days, the island of Ibiza. On the coastal side opens the Cova Tallada, a spectacular sea cave reachable on foot or by kayak. The north face hides the cliffs of the Raco del Bou and micro-reserves of endemic flora.
