Description

13th-century fortress perched on the headland overlooking San Vicente de la Barquera. Fully restored, it houses a permanent exhibition on the town's history and natural surroundings. From its towers you can see the Picos de Europa, the estuary and the medieval 28-arched Maza bridge. An iconic stop on the Northern Way of St James.
