Description

The Salt de Bolulla is a spectacular 20-metre waterfall set deep in the Estret de les Penyes gorge, in the Marina Baixa region. At its base, a circular turquoise pool roughly 12 metres across sits enclosed by rock walls and Mediterranean vegetation. Above it, a chain of natural pools and rock slides wind through the canyon.

The surroundings blend medlar and avocado terraces with mountain pinewoods, just 5 km from the Algar Springs. The Ruta del Agua de Bolulla, a gentle 1.7 km family walk along the river, takes in the Font dels Xorros spring, historic irrigation channels and the Molí de Bolulla flour mill, which operated into the 20th century. Adventure seekers can book guided canyoning descents through the full gorge.
