Xallas River Canyoning — Level IV, Costa da Morte

The Xallas River is one of Galicia's most singular rivers: it flows directly into the sea at the Fervenza do Ézaro, the only river in Europe that falls into the Atlantic as a waterfall. The Xallas canyon, in the river's upper valley in A Coruña province, is Level IV: highly vertical Atlantic granite walls, significant waterfall rappels, high-commitment sections and mandatory self-rescue manoeuvres.

The experience

One of the most singular canyons in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. The route combines the technical demands of Level IV with a naturally exceptional setting in the heart of the Costa da Morte.
