Inland, the Parque Natural Montes de Málaga (4,996 ha), crossed by the Guadalmedina stream, provides low-to-medium difficulty hiking routes including the El Tarajal loop (12 km). The Mediterranean climate allows outdoor activities year-round: winter is mild (10–16 °C) and summer hot (28–35 °C) with sea temperatures of 22–25 °C from June to October. Water activities peak from July to September. Málaga airport and the suburban rail network provide easy access from anywhere on the Costa del Sol.
