The Penedès unfolds in gentle hills between Barcelona and Tarragona, a sea of Xarel·lo, Parellada and Macabeu vines dotted with farmhouses and century-old wineries. Vilafranca del Penedès is its wine capital; around it, villages like Font-rubí and Sant Martí Sarroca hold the cosiest family wineries.

By train: Rodalies R4 to Vilafranca del Penedès from Barcelona-Sants (about 50 min); from there a car or taxi is best to reach the wineries. Airport: Barcelona-El Prat, 40 min away.

From what age can children take part?

The grape-must tasting is designed for ages 3 and up. The cava breakfast on the organic estate recommends ages 6 and up. We adapt the winery to your family's ages.

What exactly does the price include?

A guided winery visit with a family tasting, a country breakfast with animals and one night of rural lodging. Transport and unspecified meals are separate; extras (theatrical visit, Mehari tour) are optional.

Is it a weekend or can it be extended?

The base combo is 2 days and 1 night, but we tailor it: we can add nights, more wineries or extra experiences depending on what your family is after.

Do I need a car?

It's highly recommended. The wineries are spread across the region and, although there's a train to Vilafranca del Penedès, getting between estates is far easier by car.
