  3. Castle, market or outing

Free afternoon to visit the Mudéjar Alcázar (12th century), the Central Market for seafood tapas, or optionally extend to Sanlúcar (25 km, manzanilla and Bajo de Guía beach). Depart when you decide.

Who this fits

Romantic History Relaxation Gastronomy

It fits couples, cultural travellers 18+, wine lovers curious about sherry, and anyone wanting Andalusia with cultural depth beyond the beach. Works as a short weekend from Sevilla, Madrid or Barcelona.

It does NOT fit families with small kids (tasting central), groups looking for stag-party nightlife (Jerez has serious flamenco, no party drinks), or reduced-mobility travellers (original cobblestone courtyards).

Frequently asked

Got a question not listed here? Just ask.

Which winery do we visit?
Usually González Byass (Tío Pepe), Lustau or Fundador, depending on availability and your preference (the big classic vs the intimate premium). Mention your interest when booking.
Can we visit several wineries?
Yes, with supplement. A second 1h tasting is €25-35/person on the same day or the next.
Is it accessible for reduced mobility?
Tío Pepe and Fundador have ramps and adapted toilets. Lustau and older haciendas keep original cobblestones. Check each winery first.
Do I need wine knowledge?
No. Guided visits explain the solera system and Jerez wine types from scratch. Designed for beginners.
Is there an alcohol-free option?
Yes, some wineries offer unfermented must and Jerez vinegars to taste (Lustau has a must-try Solera Reserva 1.24).
Should I rent a car?
Not needed if you stay at a hacienda with transfer. If you want to extend to Sanlúcar and Cádiz, renting at XRY airport speeds things up.
