Arrival at the campsite

Arrival at the Casas del Río campsite, settling into tipis, light meal.
Rafting on the Cabriel River

Transfer to the boarding point, briefing and 7 km raft descent with an instructor. Return to camp.
Barbecue and fire

Barbecue dinner at the campsite. Evening around the fire with a clear sky, no city lights.
Breakfast and departure

Breakfast at the campsite and departure. Optional: short trail through the canyon before getting in the car.

Camp in Casas del Río (hamlet of Venta del Moro), province of Valencia, inside the Cabriel Gorges Nature Reserve. Mediterranean scrub of holm oaks, gorse and red quartzite cliffs by the Cabriel river.

Car from Valencia: A-3 towards Madrid until exit 250, then N-322 to Venta del Moro. 1h15.

Car from Madrid: A-3 towards Valencia until Caudete de las Fuentes, then CV-470. 2h30-3h.

Final access to the camp is on a track; the operator sends the exact pin with the voucher.

Do I need to swim well?

Not at a high level. You need to float with a life vest and stay calm if you fall in. The guide briefs you fully before the descent.

From what age can kids join?

This package is set from 10 years old, mostly for adult groups. Some operators accept from 8.

What are the tipis like?

Circular tents for 4-6 people with wooden floor. No plugs or climate control; sleeping bag recommended in spring and autumn.

Group min and max size?

Usually 8 minimum, 30 maximum. For smaller groups ask for alternatives.

Is there mobile reception?

Very limited or none. The camp is deep in the Reserve. Warn anyone who needs to be reachable before arrival.
