Description

A 1st-century AD Roman theatre carved into the Castle Hill slope, originally seating 8,000 spectators. A National Monument, it preserves the semicircular cavea with tiered seating and part of the stage. The controversial 1990s restoration allowed it to host summer theatre and concerts again. Upper tiers offer views of the Mediterranean, Camp de Morvedre plain and the hilltop castle.
