Description

Termas Pallarés is a historic thermal spa in Alhama de Aragón (Zaragoza), in the Jalón river valley. Its main feature is a natural thermal lake of around 7,000 m², the largest of its kind in Europe, fed by waters that emerge at 31-32 °C, weakly mineralised, indicated for respiratory and rheumatic affections.

The spa was developed in the 19th century around the railway between Madrid and Barcelona, with a historic hotel complex —Hotel Termas (today partly under restoration) and Hotel Reina Sofía— and gardens designed for a long stay. Today it offers two main modalities: day access to the thermal lake and circuit (25€) and short hotel stays including treatments and thermal access (134€).

Alhama de Aragón sits in the valley of the Jalón, between Calatayud and Medinaceli, on the main road and rail axis between Madrid and Zaragoza. The surroundings combine thermal spa, Moorish heritage (Calatayud) and wines of D.O. Calatayud.
