Highlights

  • • Hiking in Sierra Mágina, with summits above 2,000 m through oak woodland
  • • Rock climbing at Sierra Pandera, well-equipped limestone sectors near Los Villares
  • • Horse-riding and mountain biking on rural paths through the Campiña olive groves
  • • Gateway to Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas: canyoning, canoeing and long-distance hiking

Best time to visit

Spring and autumn are the ideal seasons: mild temperatures for hiking and climbing, and the active olive groves add a distinctive colour to the landscape.

Practical tips

For climbing at Sierra Pandera, bring plenty of water and sun protection: the sun-exposed limestone gets very hot in summer and most sectors have little shade.
